Toughest Gun Laws in the Country Approved by New York State Senate

Fox News
Days after calling for an overhaul of gun control in New York following the Connecticut school shooting, Gov. Andrew Cuomo worked out a tough proposal on gun control with legislative leaders who promised to pass the most restrictive gun law in the nation.

The measure passed the Senate 43-18 on the strength of support from Democrats, many of whom previously sponsored the bills that were once blocked by Republicans.
It sounds like more than the "support of Democrats" voted this bill in.  What do you think?

  1. New York politicians aren't Democrats or Republicans. They're control freaks; whether regular or diet doesn't really matter.

  2. It will inconvenience those who obey the law and prove to be otherwise ineffective.

  3. This is the dumbest law I've ever seen. A limitation to 10 rounds is bad enough considering lots of situations we've seen in the news; 7 is ridiculous. If they really thought that a limit to 7 was necessary, they would have required getting rid of those (not saying it would be Constitutional, just internally consistent).

As is, you can keep your 10 round magazines, you just have to load only 7 rounds in them. I'm sure that all of the criminals in New York will comply with that.

Too bad for all of the veterans who like to collect and shoot Garands though, they'll be criminals if they load up the 8 round en blocks to load the gun.

But don't worry, New Yorkers, you can still buy a double action revolver. Until Governor Cuomo decides that New York needs to go further to be the most extreme state in the Union...then you'll be limited to single actions--state of the art technology in the early 1800's. Don't worry though, the criminal breaking into your house won't bring a semi-auto with 15 rounds.

I expect that there will be a bit of a spike in sales of PVC pipe and post hole diggers in New York over the course of the next year.

    1. Seven rounds? Seriously? Do you know how quickly seven rounds goes though my SAW or M-60? If I where limited to that, we would have been overrun by ax-wielding crackheads, and I would have been forced to unleash my (concealed) switchblade Katana, and leap at them from the walls. It insane that anyone would carry less than 40 rounds in a rifle mag or 18 rounds in a (automatic) handgun (I would say 20, if not for the Glock-18, one of my current BUGs).

    2. Mall Ninja! You're back! I thought we might have scared you off. I'd ask if it's raining as much in Knoxville as it is here, but I honestly don't think you're the real Gecko. Keep practicing, you may reach his level one day.
