The First 3D Printed Bullet - Gun Nuts say "Wow"

  1. What I'm getting from this video is that they were able to use high technology to produce something that can be made by pouring molton lead into a mold. Much like the technique I used to make toy soldiers back when I was a kid.
    Its not as accurate and has less stopping ppower. You can buy a hundred slugs for about thirty dollars, or buy a mold to make your own for the same price. You can even buy the slugs in the UK with no permit.
    Seems they're trying to make something simple more complicated.

    1. Yeah--this might lead to something interesting some time down the road, but for the moment, I'm missing the "wow" factor. Then again, I'm not a "gun nut," so I suppose he wasn't talking about me.

  2. This is why lead is so common in bullets--those physics concepts of inertia, density, momentum, and so forth.

  3. Hey, Mikeb, I get the impression you're still kinda unhappy about 3-D printed guns, so in the spirit of kindness, I wanted to tell you about making untraceable so-called "assault weapons, without 3-D printing.

    Pretty awesome, isn't it?

    The bottom line with improvised firearms, whether printed or assembled by more traditional methods, is that they take the government out of the loop. No asking "permission" to exercise the Constitutionally guaranteed, fundamental human right of the individual to keep and bear arms, and no government knowledge of just who is exercising it.

    That's liberty's Holy Grail, and there's no stopping it.
