Liberal Viewer on the Civil Suit and Challenging Stand Your Ground

  1. Yup, it's amazing that the family's lawyer isn't pushing them to exploit the events, but here's where Stand Your Ground defends people from frivolous law suits. I don't have a lot of faith in "Liberal Viewer" if he gets his ideas of Eric Holder, given all the violations that Holder allows or supports.

  2. Think Magna Carta has no bearing on US law? Guess again:

Magna Carta: We will sell to no man, we will not deny or defer to any man either Justice or Right.

Florida Constitution Article I, SECTION 21. Access to courts.— The courts shall be open to every person for redress of any injury, and justice shall be administered without sale, denial or delay.

    1. Wow! Principles of freedom from the Magna Carta were enshrined and expanded in coverage in constitutions in the U.S.!!!

Amazing that we'd build on historically won freedoms!

      Your point, Laci?

    2. We know that you love the Magna Carta. But it isn't relevant to current U.S. law. It shows the roots of our legal system, but we're neither bound nor protected by that document.

  3. Looks to me that this trial was sold to the race baiters, lost anyway.

  4. Stand Your Ground laws do not undermine public safety. The criminals who attack people are the element that undermines public safety.

When a violent criminal attacks a victim, that criminal has a huge advantage: the element of surprise. If we tell the victims that they must retreat whenever possible, we put them at three additional disadvantages. First, the victim now has to try and analyze a situation for safe escape routes. That takes time -- something that a victims doesn't have when violent criminal attacks. Second, it distracts the victim taking away their focus from the immediate threat before them. Finally, it puts the victim in jeopardy again after the attack (assuming they even survive the attack) because prosecutors will prosecute them if they did not retreat.

Oh, and I should mention that imposing a duty to retreat endangers additional citizens as well when the victim, whose focus is on the attacker, walks, runs, or drives away into or in front of other citizens.

Making a victim the focus of attack from a prosecutor is immoral and obscene. Stand Your Ground laws rectify that.

    1. If Jerome Ersland didn't have a video camera on him he would have been another poor victim who was just defending himself against evil.

And if Zimmerman and Martin had one on them, old George would be doing hard time right now, just like old Jerome.

    2. So what do you make of Zmmerman saying "thank God" when the police bluffed that they had the encounter on video?

    4. You can now see T Martin's entire criminal history, the history that the jury was kept from seeing at the trial. Pretty impressive and long for a 17 year old "child". Look it up, interesting stuff.

Speaking of child. We had a 17 year old shoot a cop in the leg went they went to arrest him for the rape and killing a 9 year old girl who he then left her bound and nude body in the middle of his street covered with a tarp. He lived just two doors down from his victim. The cops put a round in this 17 year old head, he is in the hospital right now and under a half million dollar bond. The arrest warrant identified him by his DNA and his dogs DNA left on her body, which he volunteered a week or so before. Neighbors are shocked, but not surprised as they were scared to be around this 17 year old because of his violent behavior.

The news refers to this 17 year old white boy as a "man". Double standard here? Anybody?

This happened in Saginaw Texas, again, look it up.

    5. I do have to correct myself in the above post. The girl was 6, not 9. As if that really makes any difference anyway.
