North Carolina 13-Year-old Shot and Killed - Shooter Arrested Immediately

Local news reports

Police say a 13-year-old boy is dead after a gun discharged in a hotel room and the bullet went through a wall into another room, hitting the teen.

It happened around 11 p.m. Friday at the Comfort Suites hotel at 1309 Corporation Parkway.

Randall Louis Vater, 42, of Knightdale has been charged with involuntary manslaughter and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. 

The victim has been identified as Nathan Andrew Clark, of Lewisville, N.C.

    Am I to understand that you want to require people to submit to a background check before they steal a gun? I'm positively giddy with eagerness to hear out that works out.

    3. The irresponsible idiot who killed this kid was charged with possession of the gun by a felon. That led me to think he got it either by a no-background-check buy or by theft. There's nothing very stupid in that, but your first comment, ...

  2. Isnt being a felon in possession on your list of things making it more likely to be arrested?
