SCOTUS Rejects Challenge to Semi-Auto and Magazine Ban

Supreme Court

Ammoland

Finally showing its hand on a case that’s been relisted time and again over the past several weeks, the Supreme Court today announced it will not hear Friedman v Highland Park, a challenge to a Chicago suburb’s ordinance against the possession, sale and purchase of politically incorrect semiautomatic firearms and standard capacity magazines.

Now if we could just overturn Citizens United, all of my liberal buddies would be able to quit worrying about the sky falling.

Funny you should say that, about SCOTUS declining to rule on whether or not the Second Amendment guarantees the right to own so-called "assault weapons" and so-called "high capacity" magazines--at just the time when the majority of Americans wake up to the utter heinous evil of banning them. Not exactly the best timing for supporting your "finest representative democracy on the face of the earth" contention.

In the end, though, we don't need the Supreme Court, or any other government entity, to protect our fundamental human right to own "assault weapons. What we need for that, ironically, is our "assault weapons," fed from some nice, capacious magazines. I just finished configuring this one last night.

A little heavy, but optimized for delivering plenty of firepower, whether the threat is 500 yards away, or across the room.

    2. Wow! Happy shooting. I suppose one could afford enough bullets to fill her up every now and then, but you may have to set aside some money for new targets! Looks like that baby could turn ten bales of hay into chaff in no time flat.

    3. Thanks, FJ. Confession time, though. The rearmost magazine (the one for the semi-automatic component of the weapon system) is designed to feed 90 rounds of 5.56mm NATO/.223 Remington. The thing is, that gun is actually chambered for 6.5mm Grendel. It's pretty unlikely that the pictured mag would feed that cartridge reliably (although it does handle the .50 Beowulf nicely, so who knows?). I basically put the two drums on it for the pic just to hear the sweet sound of the anguished bleating of "gun control" advocates.

If it does feed reliably, I have enough thousands of rounds of 6.5mm Grendel to load it up quite a few times, and enough hundreds of 12 gauge for a good number of refills for the other drum.
